In My Garden

Spring has been slow to come to my garden. Dismal has been a good word for the weather. Clouds and rain have kept me indoors. I ventured out the other day to find that the splendor of the peonies came out in spite of or maybe because of the weather. I am hoping this will inspire me to go out and enjoy the garden in all types of weather.

I have been invited to go to Kauai in July. My cousin has a time share and has rented a condo at Princeville for a few extra days. The splendor of the flowers are an inspiration for my watercolors. This will be my eighth trip to Hawaii. I never get tired of paradise. Now I need a miracle to gather the resouces for this adventure!

Today was my oldest grandson's, Davis, 17th birthday. On my way to his house I stopped to retrieve three watercolor paintings from a gallery where they had been hanging for the month of May. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for Davis, none of them sold. I was flattered to be accepted into the juried show. As I was leaving his house I asked him if he would like to have a painting. I let him choose. He was tickled. He has a beautiful room painted blue and orange. (He wanted orange and black. the OSU Beavers' color when they were picking colors for the new house but Mom said no black walls.) This is his painting - Battery Point Lighthouse at Crescent City, California.

Now Sunshine will smile on me!
